Since day one of the fashion house, we have been working with whole fabric sheets. A top made from an uncut piece of fabric was the starting point of these experiments back in 2015 when the fashion house was just starting out. That top has become the prototype for this dress: for the 4 Something collection, we have expanded the top into a full-fledged dress, slightly changing the original design. It is still a rectangle of fabric, but now it has adjustable spaghetti straps instead of wide ones. Another difference is a row of thin ties on both sides of the dress. They allow you to fasten the ‘wings’ on the back, covering the hips and legs. The front of the dress is decorated with a print of a floral ornament and the ‘4 something’ rhyme. According to the Victorian tradition, “something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue” are the bride’s good-luck charms.
The design of the garment is so well thought out that we have released it in only two sizes which suit any height and body type. The criss-crossed straps create an A-line silhouette. Despite the open back, the dress sits securely on the body.
