This design is a nod to the classic Soviet wrap dress. Just a few decades ago, a garment similar in mood and silhouette could be found in the wardrobes of thousands of women. Its simple, versatile cut allowed for movement, while geometric, floral, or polka-dot prints added a touch of festiveness. This robe-like dress was not only a loungewear item.
This Ushatava dress combines a graphic silhouette, a nostalgic color scheme, and features reflecting the DNA of the fashion house: elongated sleeves with wide cuffs, a flared skirt with an asymmetrical hem, crisp lapels, and a subtle wrap that fasten with a hidden snap and accent button. The finished dress has been treated with a hot press, creating elbows crinkles mimicking anatomical creases. We wanted to create the effect of life's traces that often appear on beloved garments. This detail also lends a casual feel to the elegant fabric. The dress is made of shimmering polka-dot jacquard; the polka dots are not a print, but a woven pattern.
