Corset in Crumpled Cotton

We created this soft corset as an alternative to the classic one. Unlike the prototype, it does not have any boning or lacing and is held on the body by raised seams and a wide elastic on the back. We wanted to create a piece that would straighten a woman's shoulders with its fitted silhouette and give her soft strength without restricting her movements. Thanks to the darts, the corset fits tightly around the chest but still feels comfortable. The corset fastens with a hook and eye and a two-way zipper, which can be undone from the top, bottom, or top and bottom at the same time.
The piece is made of thick boiled cotton with a ‘crispy’ texture resembling crumpled paper and lined with regular cotton. The front of the corset is decorated with chaotic folds that refer to the frozen-in-time garment of ancient marble statues. Each corset has undergone additional hot pressing to enhance the crumpled effect.
